Softball Recap: Parkway Central Comes Up Short

Parkway Central dropped down to 15-6 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 12-0 to the Cor Jesu Academy Chargers. Considering the last time the Colts couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Parkway Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Knock, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Cor Jesu Academy, their record is now 14-7-1. Considering they have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Cor Jesu Academy's side, Aubrey Grimm and Alice Vogel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Grimm pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Vogel pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grimm has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Grimm got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Vogel went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That home run was Grimm's first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Chambers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Carter, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Parkway Central will face off against Oakville at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cor Jesu Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
