Softball Recap: Clarke Central Comes Up Short

Clarke Central managed to slip by Newton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Gladiators came up short against the Rams on Wednesday, falling 14-6. While the Gladiators didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 5-0 in the first period.

Clarke Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adriana Ozuna, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Moriah Carpenter also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Clarke Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Newton, they moved to 14-13 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Clarke Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newton, they will head out on the road to square off against North Gwinnett at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
