Basketball Recap: Jordan Falls Despite Big Games from Jah'asharee Moore and Tiara Sandlin

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Jordan was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They lost 45-22 to the Sunny Hills Lancers. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Jordan had strong showings from Tiara Sandlin, who posted seven points and six rebounds, and Jah'Asharee Moore, who put up ten points and four steals. That was a full 45.5% of Jordan's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Hernandez, who had three points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Jordan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Leading Sunny Hills to victory were Allie Sexton and Sydney Kim. Sexton went 5 of 10 on her way to 19 points, while Kim posted ten points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Shim, who put up six points.

Jordan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Sunny Hills, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Jordan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-48 win against Anaheim on the 4th. As for Sunny Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-36 defeat against El Dorado on the 3rd.
