Baseball Recap: Holton Red Devils vs. Hesperia Panthers

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Holton and Hesperia meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Panthers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 17-6 victory back in April.

Fisher Mirkle was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Holton: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-13-1 otherwise.
