Softball Recap: The Classical Academy Takes a Loss

If The Classical Academy was riding high fresh off their 22-4 takedown of Sierra on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Widefield Gladiators on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 19-9 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Ada Wilson put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Taytum Kimbro, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

The Classical Academy's record is now 13-5. As for Widefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-2-1 record this season.

The Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-2 win against Sand Creek on the 30th. As for Widefield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-8 victory against Falcon on the 1st.
