Softball Recap: Dougherty Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Dougherty's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Cairo Syrupmakers on Thursday. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Dougherty saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jalexi Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Dougherty's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cairo, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, Dougherty will be playing at home against Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cairo, they will head out on the road to challenge Valdosta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.64 runs per game on average), something the Syrupmakers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
