Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Murray County walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Franklin County Lions a 2-0 shutout on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Murray County, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Francisco Perez and Julio Escobar scored both of Murray County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Murray County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Franklin County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.
