Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was the 1-0 winner over Independence when they last played one another back in May of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Liberty Patriots took a hard 50-34 fall against the Independence Falcons on Thursday.

Kenadi Walton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards for Independence. Walton has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last ten times she's played. Madison Harrold was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Liberty now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Independence, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Liberty will be playing at home against Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Independence, they will head out to challenge Ridgeview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Walton and Aubrey Aldan.
