            Softball Recap: Gering Bulldogs vs. Kearney Bearcats        
        
		
        
        
            If Gering was feeling good  fresh off their  12-0 takedown of Gothenburg on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against  the Kearney Bearcats on Friday, falling  13-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bulldogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was  back in August.
 Gering saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jacelyn Brown, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  double.
Gering's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Kearney, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record  this season.
 Gering will be taking part in a tournament against Polk County  at 9:30  a.m.  on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Slammers have averaged an impressive 6.9  runs per game this season. As for Kearney, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Lincoln Southeast  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
