Soccer Game Preview: Port of Los Angeles vs. East Valley

The Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears will take on the East Valley Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Port of Los Angeles' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Port of Los Angeles is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Foshay last Wednesday. Port of Los Angeles lost 3-0 to Foshay.

Meanwhile, East Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Dorsey on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on five straight.

Genesis Escobar was the driving force of East Valley's attack as she scored all three of East Valley's goals, bringing her season total up to 25 goals.

East Valley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Port of Los Angeles, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
