Basketball Recap: Community Charter Takes a Loss

Community Charter lost against Lakeview Charter back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Community Charter Titans took a blow against the Lakeview Charter Lions, falling 43-4. The contest marked the Titans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Lakeview Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Liliana Word out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 boards. That's the most rebounds Word has posted since back in January of 2024. Evelyn Quinonez was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 steals.

Community Charter has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Lakeview Charter, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Valley Oaks CES the next time they take the court. Community Charter will host Valley Oaks CES at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lakeview Charter will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
