Preview: Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs vs. Southern Huntingdon County Rockets
The Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Wednesday, Claysburg-Kimmel was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-57 to Fannett Metal. Claysburg-Kimmel has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alexa Francona, who scored nine points along with 19 rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Zailee Bush, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Claysburg-Kimmel were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Southern Huntingdon County stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They breezed by Tussey Mountain at home to the tune of 75-42. The victory was familiar territory for Southern Huntingdon County who now have three in a row.
Claysburg-Kimmel has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Southern Huntingdon County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
