Basketball Recap: Greenfield Comes Up Short

Greenfield was the 51-33 winner over King City when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Greenfield Bruins and the King City Mustangs didn't end well, with the Greenfield Bruins falling 59-43. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

King City was led to victory by Alizah Carrillo and Amity Hearne. Carrillo went 6 of 13 on her way to 21 points, while Hearne posted five points in addition to 17 rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points gave Carrillo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katia Slama, who earned 13 points.

Greenfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for King City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-11.

When Greenfield and King City next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Greenfield will try to stop Palma's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, King City will square off against St. Francis and their seven-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
