Recap: Ontario Christian Knights vs. Aquinas Falcons
The Ontario Christian Knights waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They claimed a resounding 85-38 victory over Aquinas at home. Ontario Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 37 points or more this season.
Ontario Christian found their leader in underclassman Kaleena Smith, who went 9 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 42 points and 7 assists. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Ontario Christian's points. Karsen Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Ontario Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 63.67 points. As for Aquinas, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ontario Christian will square off against Buena Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Buena Park's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. Aquinas on the road again on Friday and play against Woodcrest Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Woodcrest Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 791st, while Aquinas is ranked 138th).
