Baseball Recap: Cross Creek Razorbacks vs. Aquinas Fightin' Irish
Cross Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 19-3 to the Aquinas Fightin' Irish. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fightin' Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 last Wednesday.
Benjamin Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. K Burton was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double.
Cross Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Aquinas, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cross Creek will square off against Baldwin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aquinas, they will face off against Harlem at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harlem will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Aquinas surely won't give up without a fight.
