Softball Recap: Englewood Comes Up Short

Englewood couldn't beat Jefferson Academy on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Pirates lost 21-7 to the Jaguars. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Xalynn Sandoval was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three runs.

Englewood now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Jefferson Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Englewood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-4 loss against Alameda on the 26th. As for Jefferson Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-14 defeat against Kennedy on the 26th.
