Basketball Recap: Franklin Knights vs. Warren Dragons
It was a good run, but the Franklin Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 39-27 to Warren. Franklin has struggled against the Dragons recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Katie Boal. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Boal is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kirsten Hicks, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Franklin's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Warren, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will stay at home for another game and welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Warren will take on the Oilers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Oil City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Dragons are ranked 83rd).
