            Football Recap: Plainville Cardinals vs. Russell Broncos        
        
		
        
        
            After soaring to 51  points the game before, Plainville was a bit more limited  in their  match  on Friday. They came up short against  the Russell Broncos, falling  28-6. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost three in a row.
 Russell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Trey Zorn, who threw for 352 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. Those  352  passing yards gave  Zorn a new career-high.  Sam Thielen was  Zorn's top target, picking up 135 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
Plainville now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Russell, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainville will challenge Smith Center on Friday. As for Russell, they will be playing at home against Larned  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
