Softball Game Recap: Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers

Vidalia Heritage Academy had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-10 to make it six. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Tuesday.

As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

For Central Fellowship Christian Academy's part, Ella Huddleston made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Huddleston was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lydi Simmons, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Johnson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vidalia Heritage Academy will head out to challenge Robert Toombs Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Windsor Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
