Baseball Recap: Spalding Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fayette County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spalding). They blew past the Fayette County Tigers 18-3 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Jaguars as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Spalding got a massive performance out of Tyler Ball, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Spalding is undefeated when Ball posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Clerk, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

Ball wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Spalding kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. Spalding is a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Spalding's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Fayette County, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Spalding will have a chance to go back-to-back against Fayette County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
