Football Game Preview: Tonganoxie Chieftains vs. Bishop Miege Stags + Official Tickets

Tonganoxie hasn't had much luck against Bishop Miege recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chieftains will square off against the Stags. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Tonganoxie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort Scott 45-0. The Chieftains' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tonganoxie found their leader in sophomore Bodee Maslak, who rushed for 59 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 201 yards and one touchdown. The Chieftains are undefeated when Maslak posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Jacob Morenz was Maslak's top target, picking up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Bishop Miege humbled Atchison with a 57-7 victory. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Stags had established a 43-point advantage.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop Miege and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games. As for Tonganoxie, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Tonganoxie was taken down by Bishop Miege 48-13 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Chieftains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
