Baseball Recap: Hampton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hampton took a 17-run loss the last time they faced off against Woodland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hampton Hornets skirted past the Woodland Wolfpack 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leo Vivaldi Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Hampton is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-8 otherwise. Vivaldi Garcia was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dayton Christian, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Harrison Court also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hampton's record now sits at 4-9. As for Woodland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Hampton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Woodland: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
