Softball Game Preview: West Central Blue Devils vs. Oelwein Huskies

The West Central Blue Devils will face off against the Oelwein Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Central has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Central is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Springville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 14-6 to the Orioles.

Meanwhile, Oelwein hadn't done well against Jesup recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Huskies walked away with a 6-3 victory over the J-Hawks.

Oelwein pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
