Basketball Recap: Springfield Township Spartans vs. Lower Moreland Lions
The Springfield Township Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lower Moreland. Springfield Township has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Leading Lower Moreland to victory were Briana Mcferran and Dani Brusha. Mcferran scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Brusha scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Brusha is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Maddie Broderick was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Springfield Township's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Lower Moreland, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Springfield Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lower Moreland will head out on the road to challenge the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Upper Dublin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
