Softball Recap: Ashland-Greenwood Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bluejays on Thursday. Ashland-Greenwood fell just short of Guardian Angels Central Catholic by a score of 2-1. If Ashland-Greenwood was looking for revenge after losing 12-4 to Guardian Angels Central Catholic when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sofia Dill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Ellie Milburn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Ava Egger also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Ashland-Greenwood and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coincidentally, Ashland-Greenwood and Guardian Angels Central Catholic will both be playing Freeman the next time they take the field. Guardian Angels Central Catholic will host Freeman at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Ashland-Greenwood will play them later in the day, at 8:30 p.m.
