Softball Recap: Alameda Has No Trouble Against Jefferson

Alameda won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pirates put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 21-11 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Alameda got a massive performance out of Kristell Guerra, who went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Guerra a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zila Bobian, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Alameda and bumps their season record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alameda will take on Golden at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jefferson, they will challenge Arvada at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
