Soccer Recap: Delano Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Delano's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Kennedy Thunderbirds by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Thunderbirds back in December of 2024, they had to take a 1-0 defeat.

Valeria Ortiz and Mayra Gonzalez scored all three of Delano's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Delano's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-4.

Delano didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Del Oro on the 27th. As for Kennedy, they will square off against Wasco at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
