Soccer Recap: Merced Comes Up Short

The matchup between Merced and Pitman on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Merced Bears lost 8-1 to the Pitman Pride. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Pride: they've now lost four in a row.

Merced's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pitman, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Merced will be playing in front of their home fans against Summerville at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pitman, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Enochs at 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
