Softball Game Preview: Mingus Marauders vs. Mohave Thunderbirds

The Mingus Marauders will take on the Mohave Thunderbirds at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mingus has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 14.

Flagstaff hit Mingus with a nine-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Marauders lost 13-1 to the Eagles.

Mingus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coco Grenough, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, while it was Mohave who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Coconino who put up more. The Thunderbirds took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Rilynn Bragg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

Mingus' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Mohave, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
