Soccer Recap: Mission Vista Takes a Loss

Mission Vista fell victim to San Dieguito Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Mission Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 853rd, while San Dieguito Academy is ranked 83rd).

Mission Vista was without their leading scorer, Ximena Rodriguez, in Friday's game. With Rodriguez sidelined, Amanda LeBihan got her first action of the season.

Mission Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for San Dieguito Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mission Vista will head out to challenge Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mission Vista's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for San Dieguito Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Sage Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Dieguito Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
