Softball Recap: Wheat Ridge Finds Home Field Redemption Against George Washington

There's no place like home for Wheat Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the George Washington Patriots on Monday as they made off with a 15-9 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Farmers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Haley Cross was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Delaney Cornell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Wheat Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win snapped Wheat Ridge's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-9-1 record. As for George Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Wheat Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-1 victory against Pomona on the 26th. As for George Washington, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-2 defeat against Denver South on the 25th.
