Basketball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne suffered their closest defeat since December 12, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of the Norfolk Catholic Knights by a score of 47-45. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Wayne lost, don't look at Haley Kramer. Despite the final result, she shot 43% from the field on her way to 15 points. Addison Frank was another key player, putting up eight points.

It was another big night for Sidonia Wattier, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards for Norfolk Catholic. The Knights are 3-1 when Wattier posts 15 or more points, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mallory Wolf, who went 5-for-11 en route to 15 points.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Norfolk Catholic, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Wayne will face off against Crofton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norfolk Catholic, they will challenge Pierce at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
