Football Recap: Max Harmony and Landon Martinez Secure Win for Buhler + How To Watch

Buhler won the last time they faced Winfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 41-21 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.

Buhler was led to victory by Landon Martinez and Max Harmony. Martinez gained 73 total yards, while Harmony rushed for 107 yards on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Buhler was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 344 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winfield only rushed for 146.

Winfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kellen Gibson, who threw for 264 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 60 yards. Evan Hutto was Gibson's top target, picking up 163 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Buhler is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Winfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Buhler will head out to square off against McPherson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will be up against the Bullpups' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Winfield, they will be playing at home against Mulvane at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 11.7 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them.
