Baseball Game Preview: Windsor Warriors vs. Windsor Locks Raiders

The Windsor Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Windsor Locks Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Windsor is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Windsor barely beat Conard the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Red Wolves with a sharp 9-2 victory on Thursday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Windsor Locks and Canton have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Raiders fell 10-7 to the Warriors.

Jomar Ortiz was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Zavier Hunt made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joey Tripp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Windsor Locks' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Windsor, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Windsor got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Windsor Locks by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
