Baseball Recap: Columbus Torah Academy Has No Trouble Against Columbus International

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbus Torah Academy). Everything went their way against Columbus International on Thursday as they made off with a 19-3 victory.

Sam Frank and Avraham Import were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Frank tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Import pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Frank has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. At bat, Frank got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Import went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Frank also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Yonah Liebesman was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, five runs, and four RBI. Josh Greff was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Columbus Torah Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Columbus International, their loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Columbus Torah Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Columbus International, they will take on Mifflin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Punchers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
