Football Recap: Hayfield Comes Up Short

Hayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals, falling 47-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 57-12 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hayfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lewiston-Altura, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hayfield will challenge rival Southland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lewiston-Altura is set to square off against their familiar foe Fillmore Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cardinals 14.7, the Falcons 9.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
