Soccer Game Preview: Wood vs. Rodriguez

Wood is 1-8-1 against Rodriguez since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wood Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rodriguez Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wood came up short against River City on Tuesday, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Raiders are ranked 138th).

Wood's goal came courtesy of Alyvia Vojkufka, who's now up to 12 this season.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez came up short against Pioneer on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Wood's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Rodriguez, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
