Softball Recap: Perry Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Urbandale, Perry was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Clarke Indians. That's more bragging rights for the Bluejays, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Christina Kanealy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cate Erickson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kate Schuttler, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Perry's win bumped their record up to 7-10-1. As for Clarke, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Looking ahead, Perry will head out on the road to square off against Boone at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clarke has already played their next matchup (against Chariton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
