Basketball Recap: Pleasant Grove Skates Past Franklin with Ease

Pleasant Grove hadn't done well against Franklin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Pleasant Grove Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Franklin Wildcats 63-35. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Pleasant Grove got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elena Delmundo out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Delmundo a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Myers, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Pleasant Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Pleasant Grove's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Sheldon the next time they take the court. Pleasant Grove will head out to face Sheldon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Franklin will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th.
