Soccer Game Preview: Hesperia vs. Sultana

The Hesperia Scorpions will face off against the Sultana Sultans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Hesperia is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Apple Valley on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Sun Devils. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 769th, while the Sun Devils are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sultana, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Serrano 2-1.

Madison Hernandez was the driving force of Sultana's attack as she scored both of Sultana's goals, bringing her season total up to 14 goals.

Sultana has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four games. As for Hesperia, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13-2.
