Basketball Recap: Del Norte's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Fallbrook came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Del Norte, but Emerson Cole wouldn't allow it. The Del Norte Nighthawks managed a 58-52 win over the Fallbrook Warriors on Friday thanks in part to Cole, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points and four steals. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Mireia Herrera was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those eight boards gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Fallbrook lost, don't look at Janice Garcia. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emery Pizzo, who posted 15 points and eight boards.

Del Norte's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-17. As for Fallbrook, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Del Norte will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westview at 5:30 p.m. As for Fallbrook, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-21 defeat against Otay Ranch on the 1st.
