Recap: Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons
The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 69-46 defeat to Scripps Ranch might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Academy of Our Lady of Peace can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 575th, while Scripps Ranch is ranked 228th).
Academy of Our Lady of Peace lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jillian Nowicki, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Samantha Gehler was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Scripps Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michelle Kramer, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. Kramer continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ree Ree Davis, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Academy of Our Lady of Peace has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Scripps Ranch, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8.
Academy of Our Lady of Peace will head out on the road to take on Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Scripps Ranch, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cathedral Catholic at 6:00 p.m.
