Football Recap: Jayson Bruner and Joshua Keeto Pace Gallup Defense

Gallup had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it five. They lost 31-6 to the Thoreau Hawks. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Bengals couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gallup didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayson Bruner and Joshua Keeto.

As for Thoreau, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.5 points on average over those games.

The critical scores for Thoreau came from Elyjah Becenti, Jordan Calladitto, Irvin Tom, and Noah Trickey.

Gallup didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 32-8 victory against Zuni on the 3rd. As for Thoreau, they have also already played their next matchup, a 51-0 win against Tohatchi on the 3rd.
