Softball Recap: Shenandoah Takes a Loss

Shenandoah extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-7 in the process. They lost 20-2 to the Lewis Central Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered against the Titans since July 1, 2021.

As for Lewis Central, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Lewis Central's part, Cami Damgaard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Damgaard has posted over her last eight contests. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Aubree Davis and Mahri Manz did most of the damage at the plate: Davis went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Manz went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. What's more, Davis posted four RBI, the most she's had over her last 16 games. Another player making a difference was Camryn King, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lewis Central beat Shenandoah by a score of 17-2 later that day.
