Softball Recap: Milan Takes a Loss

After flying high against Linn County on Tuesday, Milan came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Brookfield Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 8-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

K Sayre spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits.

Milan's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Brookfield, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Milan will take on Albany at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Brookfield, they will square off against Salisbury at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
