Football Recap: Cedar Cliff Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 35 points the game before, Cedar Cliff was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Central York Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Panthers are ranked 12th).

Jalen Hinton threw for 32 yards on three of 14 attempts. On the ground, Alex Otero rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown.

Central York got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brendyn Smith out in front who picked up 115 receiving yards and five scores. Those five receiving touchdowns gave Smith a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Brooklyn Nace, who threw for 179 yards and five TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes.

Cedar Cliff's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Central York, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Cedar Cliff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central York, they will be playing at home against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
