Basketball Recap: Riverside Prep Comes Up Short

Riverside Prep played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Silver Valley Trojans 64-32. The Silver Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.

Despite the loss, Riverside Prep still got an impressive performance from Mya Graham, who posted 12 points and three steals. That was a full 37.5% of Riverside Prep's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logann Ravare, who put up nine points.

Naomi Durrah continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Silver Valley, going 14 of 25 on her way to 44 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Durrah's afternoon made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Lyric White was another key player, putting up six points along with 14 rebounds and six blocks.

Riverside Prep's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Silver Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Riverside Prep will host Hesperia Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Silver Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-30 defeat against Apple Valley on the 19th.
