Baseball Recap: Delavan Takes a Loss

Delavan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-2 to the Eureka Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 5-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Delavan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace Kight-Garlisch, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that Kight-Garlisch has hit this season.

Delavan's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Eureka, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Coming up, Delavan will face off against Mt. Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hilltoppers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eureka, they will take on Ridgeview at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
