Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Hornets vs. Moore Haven Terriers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hawthorne had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Moore Haven Terriers with a sharp 54-32 victory. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Terriers are ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hawthorne had a senior duo take command as Chasion Wilson went 7-for-10 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and five steals and Kelvin Baker went 7-for-12 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Kyler Ingram was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.
Hawthorne has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Moore Haven, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
