Baseball Game Preview: Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers vs. Westfield School Hornets

The Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Westfield School Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Central Fellowship Christian Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Westfield School likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Central Fellowship Christian Academy made easy work of Community Christian Academy and carried off a 13-2 victory. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Barron Hamilton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Central Fellowship Christian Academy got a massive performance out of George Bassett, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Bassett has become a key player for the Lancers: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-16 otherwise. Carter Welch was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Westfield School lost 15-6 to Pinewood Christian on Wednesday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westfield School's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, their record is now 5-17.
